Digital Cameras

Since photography was first invented, people have been trying to get the best picture possible, in the highest clarity and definition possible. Until recently, complete picture perfect high definition has not been achievable, but with the invention of digital cameras, this has since become a reality.

This is mainly due to the way in which digital cameras work, which is in a similar way to other digital items, such as video cameras and televisions. It works by taking video or still photographs digitally by recording images via and electronic image sensor. This is contrasted by the older method, when a camera consisted of an aperture, or an enclosed hollow with an opening at one end for light to enter, and a surface for recording and capturing the light that comes through, on the other end. Instead of using photographic film, digital cameras use an electronic camera sensor.

Digital cameras themselves can come in all shapes, sizes and capabilities. There are tiny cameras in most modern phones, multi-functional basic cameras, more expensive professional cameras, and video cameras, which can be incorporated into any of the previously mentioned types. The advent of digital cameras has also meant that cameras themselves have got a great deal smaller, because camera film is no longer required. In turn, despite the technology, small digital cameras can be very inexpensive, and have become more accessible to more people than ever, for more purposes than ever.
